States and Capitals:
Explanation:
This clip is a silly clip that I LOVE. I actually learned the states and capitals to the tune of this song. This is based from a cartoon show that is no longer on the air and the main character is playing a jeopardy style game in which he is asked the states and their capitals. He answers in verse. This would be great to use in the fifth grade because of the standard: G6.5.5 Label a map of the United States with their capitals. My fifth grade teacher had tested us prior and found out that we were pretty proficient at labeling the states due to prior grades, so it was left up to him to connect the states to the capitals. I know singing would still applicable in 5th grade, because I just a group of students make a rap for the scientific process recently.
